Overview
Direct thermal prints by heating a coated paper, so there is no ribbon to buy, load or run out of — which is why it dominates despatch benches and weighing scales. The trade-off is life: the image darkens with heat and fades with sunlight and friction, so it is the right choice for a label that matters for weeks rather than years. We say so plainly rather than selling it for asset tags.
