France adds the Triman sorting logo to consumer packaging on top of the EU requirements, and it has its own placement rules. It is a small mark that gets forgotten and stops a consignment.

Packaging and marking
Packaging sold to French consumers carries the Triman symbol together with Info-Tri sorting instructions for each component, under the AGEC framework and Decree 2021-835. Parts of the French requirement have been contested at EU level, so confirm the current wording with your importer before artwork is signed off. As an EU market this also sits under the EU packaging regulation, whose first requirements began applying in August 2026 and which will progressively replace the national marking schemes.
